Write · A Modern Federalist Paper

Pick your fight. Make the case.

You don’t need a title or a platform — the Federalists had neither, and signed their work Publius. If you know a subject cold, or simply care about one thing more than most, choose the provision that moves you and argue it — under your name or anonymously. The strongest essays are published here, submitted to the press as full-page op-eds where they can run, and folded into the next draft itself — the one carried to state legislators before 2029.

What happens to your essay

1

Published here

Under your name, or anonymously, as the Federalists did.

2

Carried to the press

We submit the strongest as full-page op-eds, where they can run in front of the whole country.

3

Folded into the draft

The best arguments shape Tier 1 and Tier 2 themselves — the version carried to state legislators before 2029.

The standards

Every essay is read, proofread, and fact-checked by a person before it is published. Give it up to 48 hours. The bar is high on purpose — this is meant to persuade the country, not fill a comment box.

An essay is denied if it:

  • Has more than five grammatical errors or incoherent passages.
  • Projects manufactured or artificial facts — anything invented or unverifiable.
  • Cites anything without a working source link. If you source it, link it.
  • Is a troll post or a rant — rejected on sight.

If you have something to say, say it well. Say it purposefully.

Preview. This is a first look at the writing page. Submissions aren’t switched on just yet — the form below shows exactly how it will work.

Pick the exact part of the document your paper argues — narrow it down to a single provision.

Not sure which provision? Start in the Debate area →

Make your argument in full. Write as long as it takes — this is meant to be a real paper, not a comment.
