What it is

A real convention, run by your class — and graded like coursework.

It drops into a constitutional-law, political-science, or civics course as a graded spine. Students are seated on topic committees, deliberate real provisions, ratify committee reports on the floor, and write a capstone Federalist paper — all captured in one place, so you grade from a complete record instead of memory.

Nonpartisan by design. Students debate the actual, current U.S. Constitution — not this site’s proposed rewrite. The exercise takes no political position: every committee argues all three outcomes, and a paper defending a provision is graded exactly like one attacking it. The skill being taught is constitutional reasoning from every side, like moot court or a model legislature.

Private and free. No names, no emails, no accounts — students join with a class code and a handle they invent. There is nothing to breach and nothing to sell, and students are never asked for money.

Bring it to your classroom

Two ways in. Read the full guide to get your department’s sign-off, or — if you already have your instructor passphrase — set up a convention now.

Keep it free

Help keep it free for every classroom

This tool is free because donations keep the whole project independent — the classroom program included. Every gift helps keep students’ civic work out from behind a paywall and brings the convention to more schools. Support the Blueprint, and you help a generation learn to govern.
